 President’s Message

Summer’s ending and I hope to see you all at the Labor Day Weekend Pool Party and General Membership meeting.

The Board has decided to move our Annual October Kick Off Meeting to Sam Sneads @ the Navy Marine Golf Course so that is more convenient for our members who come from the West side of town.   As usual the club will provide the pupus and we will see how well this new location is received.  We are also considering holding the General Membership Meeting at more convenient locations every other month and providing free pupus.  Lately we have noticed a decline in attendance at club events so any feedback from the membership would be welcome.  The Board will be planning new things including an October trip to Kauai and trying out new ideas in an effort to increase club participation.

Thanks in advance for your continued support,

geof

September Pau Hana – Ocean Club @ Restaurant Row

Tuesday, September 19, 2006 – 5:30 PM

Ocean Club could be listed as a restaurant or nightclub. The menu of appetizers live up to the claim of the “Ultimate Happy Hour” especially from 4:30 -8:00 PM when great seafood is slashed to half price and the upbeat mood starts spiraling.  A happy hour sampling: toothsome dips of spinach, artichoke or crab served with tortilla chips, salsa and sour cream; sashimi and Ahi tacos for a pittance (average price around $5) and the standards such as buffalo wings, prime rib, garlic fries, teriyaki steak and fried calamari.  On Tuesday nights all drinks are $2.50 including 1800 Margaritas, Stoli Screwdrivers to mention a few.

Perhaps some of you members would like to take in a $1.00 movie once Happy Hour is pau.  A bit of advice; get there early when the Ocean Club is uncrowded and relatively quiet, by 8:00 PM the average age drops 20 years and it becomes quite noisy in preparation for the 30 and under set that takes over until 4:00 AM.  Hope to see you there.
