President's Message
The location of this
month's first gathering should be no surprise to
old timers. For new members it means the Elks
Club for the Snowmass kick off party. It's time
to let a little fresh snow on the brain to cool
you off during this Kona like weather. This is
one gathering /meeting / party that's not to be
missed. We always have a surprise or raffle or
other freebie's for the members so don't miss
out. The location and details are listed after
this message just down the page in the
newsletter. If you don't get any further than
the varied ramblings of this message, just look
to the left column for the scoop on this months
activities.
Next, I'm looking for your
opinion on how things are going for you and your
relationship with the Ski Club.
We moved from
static meetings to variable gatherings. We make
greater use of e-information and phone
hot-lines. Feel welcome to send your comments to
my e-address of Brodie@hawaii.rr.com. Till next

SNOWMASS 2004 UPDATE!
It's not too late to join
us for our upcoming Snowmass Ski Trip in January
2004. However, any vacant rooms and airline
seats that we are holding have to be returned to
Crestwood and United. If you have ANY interest
at all and THINK you may be going, please
contact Amy and we'll do our best to continue to
hold space for you. For those who sign on during
the last few months, we will do our best to
accommodate you at the Crestwood Condos and with
our current itinerary, but there are no
guarantees. No worries, however, I'm sure we'll
find accommodations nearby and will find a
reasonable itinerary to ensure you arrive and
depart with the group.
For more tips on
Snowmass and Ski accessory give-a-aways, please
make sure you attend our annual Ski Club
Kick-off Party on Friday October 3rd at 6 pm at
the Elks Club! As this is our ANNUAL Club
kick-off party, all members and guests are
encouraged to come!!!!

Pupus).Reasonable drink prices. Great
atmosphere. Great view. We will show a Snowmass
videotape and have ski give-aways from
Snowmass/Aspen group. We will also be raffling
off movie tickets and a $50 gift cert also from
Powder edge. We are looking for other items to
raffle off so if you have something that you
would like to contribute (and that people might
actually want) bring it along. If you know
anyone who might be interested in joining the
ski club do them a favor and drag them along.

LaMariana is always one of the club's
favorite locations. Join us for pupu's at this
Tahitian style setting on the water at 5:30.

If you have not been there before, directions
are a bit tricky...best to inquire with a member
who is
familiar with the location or contact
the restaurant for specifics. See you
there!
Bike Ride- October 18 9:45 am Lagoon
Dr. Tennis Ct Parking Lot
Do you miss the group bike
rides, cruising the scenic paths of our island?
Well, get your bikes out and tuned up. We have a
ride for you!
Reserve SATURDAY, OCTOBER 18
now! We'll meet at the parking lot by the tennis
courts off Lagoon Drive at 9:45. We'll leave
promptly at 10:00 to ride the Pearl Harbor bike
path out to West Loch Park. Bring lunch and
plenty of water to enjoy the park before
returning to Keehi. Don't forget the sunblock.

It's that time of year
again. A renewal form is included in a separate
e-mail. So get that renewal in the mail or bring
your renewal form and check (payable to the Ski
Association of Hawaii) to the kickoff meeting at
the Elks
Club
Halloween Party- Waikiki Yacht Club-
FRIDAY OCTOBER 31st, 6pm
It's time to start getting
creative with your new "fall look" for the
upcoming Halloween party at the Waikiki Yacht
Club. (Of course, some of you can come as you
are...no costume required...as you're naturally
scary enough with no additional props!!!) For
those who have attended in the previous years,
well, you know how much fun this party can be.
And it even falls on a Friday night!
Our hosts Chris & Marilyn Harris
are kind (editor's note: some might
say "reckless") enough to allow us
to return! The party and music are
FREE!. A separate pupu buffet will
have a nominal cost. Please give us
an idea if you will attend so the
Harris' can provide an estimated head
count to the club. Please advise Amy
or contact Chris & Marilyn Harris.
