President's Message

Hello every one, I hope you all had a good May Day and month of May. For
those of you unable to attend the last meeting at the YumYum we had a vote for our next ski trip. Including eight hot line votes, the totals were: Whistler-11, Vail -13, and Aspen/Snowmass-17. Further details follow in the newsletter.

The Ski Club board thanks all the club members for our annual installation
dinner for board members. Honey Ruppel and Michele Herbert have agreed to volunteer their time for the good of all of us. I say three cheers for the new board members!!! I also want express my appreciation for the current members and all the effort they put into the club. Well, sometimes you don't know until you try. That's how I feel about the coming meeting at Kathy Mulledy's. I very much hope we have a good turn out and that folks become comfortable doing meetings this way. I want to thank the Mulledy's in advance of the event. Bill and Anita Hodges and Jeff Davis have already volunteered for future events.
Many Mahlos!!! See ya'll soon, Dave

New Look-(Also new times and locations) for General Meetings

To generate more member participation and enjoyment, General Meetings will take on a whole new look. EFFECTIVE JUNE they will be changed from the typical 1st Thursday of every month at the Yum Yum Tree. Now our focus will be more of a "Social Event" and will occur on the first Friday or Saturday of each month. The venue will rotate from a member's home to a local restaurant. We would like to have a "theme" to make things more interesting i.e. Wine & Cheese tasting, game night, decadent desserts, Chili Cook off etc.

If you have any good ideas PLEASE SHARE THEM! Keep an eye on each monthly newsletter for locations. Or call the HOTLINE at 545-SNOW.

Ski Trip 2004-UPDATE

Well folks it looks like we're "SNOWMASS" bound. Let's hope the implied name truly represents the amount of snow we'll receive for our upcoming January 2004 trip. Dates will be departing Friday 1/23 and returning Saturday 1/31. We have selected the last week in January as the prices do go up beginning the first week of February.

We are in the process of getting final quotes from selected outfitters. Anticipate the sign up sheets in July Newsletter with anticipated first> deposit due in August. Thanks to all of you for your input on various destinations and for all of your support in planning for another exciting winter getaway. Stay tuned for important information coming your way in July. If you have any questions, please call Amy or you can leave a message on the hotline at 545-SNOW. (Amy will be out of town mid June to end of June, so she will not be able to respond to questions during that time
