May 1- (Thur) May Day 6:30 near Waikiki Shell
May 8- (Thur) Board Meeting Yum Yum Tree 6 pm
May 20-(Tue) Jazz Night at the Musician's Union
The May 8th meeting is when we vote for our next ski trip.
Please come and lobby for your choice of trips. At this meeting suggestions/offers of new meeting locations/events will gladly be accepted by the board. Because, FYI, this is also the last meeting at the Yum Yum Tree. The meetings will become weekend social events and activities. The location will vary from members home to other public locations. Reading your newsletter carefully and/or calling the hot line will become more important. Thanks all, I'll see you out back the
Shell on May Day.
Dave
We would like to have a "theme" to make things more interesting i.e. Wine & Cheese tasting, game night, decadent desserts, Chili Cook off etc. If you have any good ideas PLEASE SHARE THEM! Keep an eye on each monthly newsletter for locations. Or call the HOTLINE at 545-SNOW.
Kick off the summer with the new
meeting happening. The June meeting will be held at Kathy Mulledy's house, not at the YumYum Tree. It will be on a Saturday night, not the weekday/workday Thursday. Kathy is planning a fun evening, perhaps including a rousing game
of croquet! Watch for more info and how to get there in the June Newsletter.
Heads up on this big change.......don't miss out!

California Wine Country River Cruise-November 7, 2003
Anyone interested in traveling aboard the 102 passenger Spirit of Endeavour? Explore century-old caverns, stacked high with vintage champagne...sip fine sparkling wine on the terrace of a French-inspired chateau or tour a mountainside
vineyard by tractor- pulled tram. This wine country cruise, sponsored by Cruise West, will visit distinctive estates and enjoy special events, tastings and meals unavailable to the general public. Meet local wine experts both on board
ship and ashore and get to know a true "insider's" Wine Country. 4 days 3 nights round trip cruise tour from San Francisco (air fare not included). November 7th. $ 649 pp but group discount may apply. If we have enough interest, we will organize this as a club event. If not, individuals may travel on their own.
For more information call Amy at 396-2981 or Lynda Bell at Regal Travel at 733-6112.
In case you Missed it: Ghosts of the Abyss- A bunch of us trekked down to Waikiki for the 3-D I-Max film Ghosts of the Abyss. Unbelievable. The pictures are so clear that it is very hard to believe that the wreck of the Titanic is almost two mile underwater. Big thumbs up from this reviewer (and most commercial reviewers as well). Afterwards most of us had dinner at Keoni's. All in all, an excellent ski club outing.
